How to Grow your orchid
Cymbidium orchids are very hardy and are one of the easiest and most rewarding plants to grow outside in southern Victoria. By following a few simple guidelines you will enjoy many seasons of spectacular flowering.

- Position:
During flowering, display your orchid inside in a cool room. After flowering move it outside to a well ventilated position which is brightly lit although still receiving very light dappled shade during the heat of summer. Too much shade will inhibit flowering.
- Watering:
Every second day during warm summer weather. Gradually ease back during autumn to once a week during winter.
- Feeding:
"Pioneer Orchid Food" (available from Pioneer Orchid Farm) every month, all year round.

- Repotting:
When your plant is pushing out of its current pot, remove the pot and replant into the next size larger. Do not divide unless your orchid has become too huge to move. Use only special orchid potting mix, orchids require perfect drainage and do not grow in soil or ordinary potting mixes.
- Pests:
Apply snail bait once a month during spike and bud formation. Spray white oil once a year after flowering to control scale insects.
